About Paul Brandvold
I'm an IT Service Management leader, ITIL Master, writer, speaker, and host of BlueScreen, a podcast exploring the realities of ITSM.
For more than 15 years, I've worked inside IT Operations and leadership. That experience shaped how I see service management. Most challenges aren't technical, they are cultural.
My work explores the gap between how ITSM looks on paper and how it feels in real life. I speak and write about trust, behavior, leadership, and the everyday friction teams navigate.
On LinkedIn, my writing has reached millions of views and grown into a recognizable voice within the ITSM community. Practitioners, vendors, and event organizers follow my work for grounded, real-world insights.
Through BlueScreen, I host conversations with the people building and selling ITSM tools, exploring what happens on the vendor side that practitioners never get to see.
My book, The Human Side of IT Service Management, brings those perspectives together through story-driven reflections on culture, systems, and the people inside them.
At the core of everything I do is a simple belief. You cannot improve service management without understanding the humans inside it.
